El 15 de abril de 2002 a las 18:02 comenzaba mi bitácora sobre mi aventura catalana tal que así: "Bueno, parece que ya estoy aquí, jeje. Hoy llevo encima una paliza tremenda. Cuando uno quiere ahorrarse unas pelas y coje uno de esas "superofertas" del tijeretazo tiene inconvenientes como que el avión sale a las 6 de la mañana y con escala en Madrid.".
Desde ese día hasta hoy, 15 de mayo de 2005 han pasado 3 años y tantas cosas que resumirlas en unos párrafos no sería hacer justicia...
Barcelona ha sido la ciudad donde me independicé, no solo económicamente sino también (y quizá lo más importante) mentalmente. Aprendí a sacarme las castañas del fuego, a buscarme la vida y a apechugar con mis decisiones.
Cuando llegué esa mañana de abril a Barcelona todo lo que tenía cabía en una maleta (eso sí, una maleta de casi 40 kilos). Era un reción licenciado, ilusionado y también asustado en una ciudad que me parecía inmensa.
Hoy soy casi un doctorado, mi novia lleva un mes cargando la maleta de 40 kilos de Barcelona a Madrid (y todavía queda llenar un coche el próximo fin de semana, esperemos que el definitivo), y la ciudad está llena de rincones que tienen un sentido especial para mí.
El próximo 21 de mayo me voy de Barcelona y cierro un ciclo. Aunque sin tener el título de doctor bajo el brazo, sí que lo tengo a punto de caramelo y espero leer la tesis este año.
Me voy satisfecho porque he aprendido mucho. Mucho a nivel profesional, pero lo más importante, mucho a nivel personal. Quizá lo más importante es que he aprendido a estar a gusto en la soledad y que a no tener miedo a la incertidumbre y al cambio.
Por eso ahora que vuelvo a cambiar me doy cuenta de que no soy el mismo. La semana que viene empezaré una vida distinta. Me voy a Madrid a vivir con mi pareja y a empezar la residencia como médico de familia (cosa que dejé pendiente cuando vine a Barcelona).
Me he divertido mucho, mejor dicho muchísimo, aunque también he tenido momentos durillos (la verdad es que uno se da cuenta de lo durillos que fueron ahora que mira hacia atrás).
Decir (para que conste) que desde hace año y medio me mudé de casa, y estuve viviendo en un piso justo al lado de mi primera residencia. Compartí piso con valencianos y un gallego (que se fueron turnando). Viajé mucho, principalmente por España (Valencia, Santiago, Madrid, Castellón, Granada...) pero también fui a Chipre, Taiwan (el viaje a Taiwan hubiese merecido un par de capítulos en la bitácora, pero la tenía olvidada). Dejé a mi novia, viví una vida de soltero y encontré a mi actual pareja (que esperemos sea la refinitiva). Salí de fiesta, cambié de jefe (de hecho soy el único superviviente de mi unidad que queda por aquí), trabajé en farmacogenómica y en minería de textos, me apunté a un gimnasio, a clases de salsa... mil historias dignas de contar pero que quedarán en mi memoria (donde probablemente se olvidarán, que me conozco...)
Llega ya el momento de despedirse y de cerrar (ahora sí) esta bitácora. Probablemente empiece otra con mi aventura "madrileña", la ocasión bien lo merece.
Procuraré, eso sí, que no se me acumulen las pilas de ropa sucia por planchar, ni las hormigas en mi nueva casa...
